Sitting in form. Case Study-The Inbetweeners Movie

Okay, my case study is going to be on "The Inbetweeners Movie", made by FilmFour and Young Bwark. This film was made in early 2011, and released to cinemas in the summer of 2011, and was filmed all on location in Magaluf. The main cast is, Simon Bird as Will, James Buckly as Jay, Blake Harrison as Neil and Joe Thomas as Simon. These four are all British. It has been made with a huge British input, but did have a small foreign input in the crew. This film I believe had nothing to do with the Americans, so I would think this is a category C film.

Director: Ben Palmer

Writers: Iain Morris, Damon Beesley

Box Office

Budget:

£3,500,000 (estimated)

Opening Weekend:

£13,200,000 (UK) (23 August 2011) (475 Screens)

£41,800,000 (UK) (20 September 2011)

(From IMDB)

This was one of the most popular films of the year, and definetly the most popular comedy of 2011.

Tuesday 24th January: Needed something to do

Right, today in the mac room me, Luke and Harry completed our preliminary exercise. When we rendered this last week, for some reason, at 24 seconds into the prelim, the edited footage disappeared and went green. So, with some help, we discovered that the transitions were all corrupt and making this happen. This week we did a last minute tweek to the prelim, adding gunshot noise's and a scream to match poor Stephen Young's death. These sound effects coming from garage band, all copyright free! Next week we will begins to edit our actual two minute coursework!!

The Storyline.

Okay. Below is the script me and Luke wanted to use. And unfortunately...we we're told not to use this. I really can't see why? So anyway, after that bad news from Sir, we went away and though of other ideas and storyline's.  We came up with an idea (an hour prior to filming) of 3 boy's coming out of school trying to look like gangsters, and then failing. So it start's with my character running away from a teacher (hmmm familiar?), Luke's character walking into a door and Samir's character putting on his hat. And then walking out of the school, where the failing begins. I get bird poo on my shoulder, Luke walks into a lampost and then we get very drunk on one bottle of wine. Too think of it, nothing actually happened to Samir's character, maybe he was sick. So yeah, that is what we filmed today!

Samir: Theirs nothing left. (trying to get drink from it)
Person: What the fuck!
Oliver: Oh god. Sorry, he's really sorry arnt you?
Samir: I'm sorry.
